Lynlee Williams has been singing solo from the age of 10. Since then she has gained a Bachelor of Education (music) and a Bachelor of Theology. She studied opera at the Victorian College of the Arts and has been a student of Merlyn Quaife's since 1994. Lynlee has toured Canberra, Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, New Zealand and Great Britain as a vocal soloist with a variety of choirs and brass bands. As a member of the Melbourne Chorus for Opera Australia, she has performed regularly since 1997. In 1998, she performed lead roles in two one-act operas auspiced by the Melbourne University Music Faculty called Riders to the Sea and The Quickening (also performed at the Port Fairy Festival). She is a regular soloist with St. Francis Catholic Church Choir and Orchestra, Melbourne University Choral Society, Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Society, Box Hill Choral Society and Camberwell Choral Society, singing such works as Handel's Messiah, Dominus Dixit and Judas Maccobaeus,Verdi's Requiem, Vivaldi's Gloria, Haydn's Nelson Mass, Beethoven's Mass in C Minor and Schubert's Mass in Bb Major. She is also a soloist on a recent CD released by the Melbourne Welsh Male Voice Choir, and was guest soloist for their performances at the Melbourne Concert Hall in 1999 and 2000. Her roles for Melbourne City Opera include Carmen, Azucena and Zita. |
