Roy Best is billed as an "exciting new Australian tenor". Since his Operatunity Oz triumph, Roy has come to national prominence in his televised performance of the Duke in Opera Australia's Rigoletto at the Sydney Opera House in October 2006.

Since then Roy has appeared with the Australian Philharmonic Orchestra New Year's Concerts at Sydney Opera House and at Hamer Hall in Melbourne in 2007. He has performed alongside artists such as James Morrison and Marina Prior in the Opera in the Alps concert at Beechworth, Opera by the Lock, at Mildura and Opera in the Market, Melbourne as well as Opera by the Lake, Canberra.

He has recently performed three roles in the world premier of Nelson, an opera by Stuart Greenbaum, in the Castlemaine Festival, alongside Lucas deJong and Susanne Johnston.

His other opera roles include Turiddu, Cavalleria Rusticana. Roy will soon will be performing Rodolfo in La Bohéme.
