Robert Barbaro commenced playing music at the age of seven. His love for singing started when he played piano and sang songs from the Beatles and Billy Joel. Subsequently he discovered opera, musical theatre and Neapolitan songs and has been operatically training his voice since high school. Robert's vocal influences include: Beniamino Gigli, Nicolai Gedda, Guiseppe Di Stefano and Luciano Pavarotti. At school he was in the chorus for HMS Pinafore and Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. He also played the role of Ewart in The Music Man. For Melbourne City Opera, Robert has been in the chorus for The Marriage of Figaro, ll Corsaro and was an extra in La Traviata. He has played the role of Raoul De St Brioche in The Merry Widow and Uldino in Attila. Robert is currently completing a BA/LLB at Melbourne University |
