Emily Burke grew up in Tasmania and is one of the three winners of ABC TV's Operatunity Oz. She is a graduate of the Victorian College Of The Arts and has attended the Conservatorium Of Music in Milan where she studied language and singing. As part of her winnings from Operatunity Oz Emily appeared as Gilda in a performance of Opera Australia's production of Verdi's Rigoletto at the Sydney Opera House and since then she has been in great demand as a soloist for all kinds of concerts including Carols By The Bay in Hobart and Christmas concerts for the Adelaide Festival Centre. She has given a solo concert as part of Federation Square's Melbourne Christmas series of events and has appeared as guest soloist with the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Society in concert at St. Paul's Cathedral in Melbourne and has been invited to take part in various corporate events for Opera Australia as well as in the company's 50th Birthday Celebration performances. She was a guest soloist of the Prime Minister's 2007 Inclusion Awards in Canberra. While in Italy. she gave concerts with the Milan Conservatorium Chorale and the International School in Varese. |
