Andrea trained at the Victorian College of the Arts, VCA School of Music where he majored in voice. He has studied singing with Roger Lemke and Gary May, and has trained as an actor with Penelope Chater of Sydney’s Acting Studio. Andrea is a versatile artist who feels equally at home in Opera, Operetta, Musical Theatre and Straight Theatre. He has a number of stage credits to his name in both opera and music theatre, including Cavalleria Rusticana, I Pagliacci, Tosca and La Bohème. He has sung in various venues around Melbourne including St Johns , The National Gallery of Victoria and Melba Hall. His VCA credits include VCA Opera in Concert, FEAST, VCA 25th Anniversary Opening Night, and the 1998 VCA Open Day. Highlights include excerpts and ensembles from act two of Madama Butterfly (Sharpless), The Magic Flute (Papageno) and Don Giovanni (Leporello). In musical theatre he has played the roles of Bamatabois and Grantaire in Les Miserables, the Baladeer in Camelot, Gee-Tar in West Side Story and Jesus of Nazareth in JC The Christ Story. Other stage credits include Kismet, Me and My Girl, Oliver and Jesus Christ Superstar. In 2002 Andrea was invited to sing in the GMV Night at the Opera, presented by Independent Classics, and understudied the role of Schaunard in MCO’s Winter season of La Bohème. Andrea has co-founded his own production company, REWNIK Productions and has written, co-produced and directed several productions, musicals, recitals and cabarets. Andrea made his operatic principal debut in the role of Silvio for Melbourne City Opera's 2002 production of I Pagliacci.
