Janine Ballantyne was winner of the Herald-Sun Aria competition in 1989, has studied in London and San Francisco and was a member of the Young Artist Program of the Victoria State Opera during 1990.
She has appeared as Berta in The Barber Of Seville, The Third Maid in the Melbourne Festival season of Elektra, as Mercedes in performances of Carmen in the Myer Music Bowl, appeared in the company of My Fair Lady and understudied Clothilde in Norma and Filipievna in Eugene Onegin all for the Victoria State Opera, as well as being a regular guest artist in opera concerts for the Victoria State Opera's corporate functions, including events for the ANZ Banking Group, Domaine Chandon and at functions in Cairns.
She appeared as Amelia in Un Ballo in Maschera for Melbourne City Opera.
