Gabriel was born in Bucharest, Romania where he began his singing career after completing a Bachelor Degree in Canto and Opera Singing at Bucharest Conservatory.  He was the prime soloist for the Romanian National Opera where he has sung principal tenor roles from La Traviata, Rigoletto, Don Giovanni, The Italian Girl in Algiers, Don Pasquale, Il Seraglio, The Barber of Seville (UK/Germany/Italy tour), Il Matrimonio Segreto, Bastien and Bastienne (UK/Italy/France tour), Ariadne auf Naxos, Christmas Oratorio (soloist), Mass in E b (soloist), Stabat Mater (soloist).  

He performed in many operettas for the Romanian National Operetta Theatre in Sylvia, The Merry Widow, Marco Polo, Vienna Blood and The Bird Seller.  

In Australia he has sung a solo tenor role in Terrence McNally’s Master Class for the Sydney Theatre Company and Beppe in I Pagliacci with Melbourne City Opera. 

Gabriel speaks Romanian, French, Spanish and Italian.
